After Byron's death in 1821 his memoirs were burned as they were considered too scandalous and for over 150 years were therefore considered lost. The author claims that he has discovered in Greece an ancient manuscript in Byron's handwriting which could be the long lost memoirs. Whether this book is the literary discovery of the century or an ingenious forgery, it remains a vivid and bawdy recreation of Byron's life. An intriguing and entertaining book. D4F. First Edition.
