Yosemite pioneer and innkeeper, early California journalist, publisher and chronicler of the mines and mountains, Hutchings looms large in California history. He was the author of "The Miner's Ten Commandments" (1853), "Scenes of Wonder and Curiosity" (1860), "In the Heart of the Sierras" (1886) and editor-publisher of Hutchings’ California Magazine. This special edition was arranged by the original publisher from the original printed sheets.
