Bielefeld: Velhagen & Klasing, 1890. Hardcover. 12mo. Brown cloth with gilt lettering and gilt, black, tan, green and yellow pictorial stamping. iv, 347pp, (2pp ads). Decorative endpapers, sewn-in gold silk page marker. Near fine. 1894 ownership signature on half-title page. Tight and bright and handsome second edition of these "Tales for Young Girls" (subtitle translation), entirely in German. Main title translation: "His Luck Smith." Helm (1825-96) was a popular and prolific German author of children's and young adult books. A wonderful example of turn-of-the-century pictorial stamping.
