Sobre este artículo
Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House,, 1965-76. First editions, first printings, of the complete series of Lovecraft's letters. "It is remarkable that Derleth and Wandrei, when founding Arkham House [in] 1939, were even then thinking of publishing Lovecraft's letters, clearly his most important (and in many ways his greatest) work. That dream, however, was not fulfilled" until the publication of this set was complete (Joshi, p. xvi). Arkham House, named after Lovecraft's fictional New England city, was founded two years after his death in 1937 to produce hardback editions of his fiction, which had first appeared in pulp magazines. The publishers have since become specialists in the "weird fiction" subgenre. Five volumes, octavo. Original black cloth, spines lettered in gilt, grey endpapers. With dust jackets. With 4 half-tone photographic frontispieces. Very slight occasional bumping to spine ends, the bindings otherwise sharp, internally crisp. A fine set in near-fine jackets, occasional light rubbing and bumping, unclipped, bright. Joshi, Lovecraft 41.a.1, 45.a.1, 59, 68-69.
