A collection of poetry including: My Star, A Serenade at the Villa, Youth and Art, Incident of the French Camp, In a Gondola, and many others. Written by Robert Browning, an English poet and playwright known for his dramatic monologues which placed him high among the Victorian poets. Previously held in the library of Susan Louisa Foljambe, Countess of Liverpool as the second wife of Cecil Foljambe, 1st Earl of Liverpool. Bound in full brown calf. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the rear board. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small handling mark. Previous owner's bookplates to the front pastedown and endpaper. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1878. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
