Lovely hardcover book with Victorian binding - botanical patterned cloth boards, ivory leather spine, gold title box on cover and spine. A smattering of faint water spots to spine, cloth boards are clean with no bumping, slight surface wear to corner tips. Gilt lettering and title boxes are bright; all page edges are gilt. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. All pages have decorative border, many have illustrations by Thomas McIlvaine. Pages are clean, including endpapers - no names, writing or marks. 474 pages..
