No date circa 1940, very good + marbled red cltoh with 1/4 black spine and gilt letter that shows bumping to bottom corners, toning to front endpapers, pages 22-23 of introduction and page 123 where something was laid in and some other light trace wear, in very good dust jacket that shows noticeable soil, rubbing and edgewear that includes closed tears and couple of tiny open chips. 308 pages with 15 full page illustrated color plates by C. E. Brock. Still a pleasing copy in jacket of this work that looks to be a reprint of the Idylls series published earlier.
Sinopsis
Sense and Sensibility is a novel by the English novelist Jane Austen. Published in 1811, it was Austen's first published novel, which she wrote under the pseudonym "A Lady". The story revolves around Elinor and Marianne, two daughters of Mr. Dashwood by his second wife. They have a younger sister, Margaret, and an older half-brother named John. When their father dies, the family estate passes to John, and the Dashwood women are left in reduced circumstances.
