London: Cassell and Co, 1896. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition. viii, 452pp., 4pp. of advertisements and 16 page publisher's catalog at the rear. Bound in full leather by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, fine gilt spine, tooling, and top, marbled endpapers. The original purple publisher's cloth (consisting of three removed pieces of the cloth only: the spine back and both covers) has been bound in at the rear. Owner's ink signature on the front free endpaper verso, the spine is rubbed at the edges and raised bands, else near fine in about near fine marbled paper-covered slipcase with beveled edges at the opening.
