Sobre este artículo

Air Marshall, Chief of the Air Staff [Royal Air Force, RAF, and Royal Canadian Air Force, RCAF] Sturdy military binder with heavy brown covers, three-hole pages bound in by string in only two holes (so whole shebang is a little looser than it should be, numerous pages ruffled/rumpled/rubbed along fore edge);---completely undated, but laid in is the envelope of a registered letter from RCAF Ottawa adressed to Flying Officer xxx in Toronto which to my tired old eyes appers to be postmatked "Aug 23, 45" which I take to be 1945, which ties in with a sample copy of "Navigational Observations" dated "20-10-42" in the section on Navigation;---clearly written for/by the RAF with many references to English towns and cities, sample maps of small areas of England, France, the Netherlands and Germany, with some pages edited for or rewritten for the RCAF;---about 670 pages in total ( weighing in at 1452 grams! and I assume there is a Part Two somewhere), paginated by section (see tally below), including many hundreds of unnumbered detailed charts, drawing (many of a purely humourous nature, merely cartoons) and black-and-white photographs (including of German Nazi World War Two fighter planes), as well as many inspirational sayings, witticisms, aphorisms, orgasms, jokes to illustrate a point;---only light traces of shelf wear to binder edges, corners crisp and square, pages surpsisingly fresh and white for vintage, very clean and unmarked (not one mark noted in browsing hundreds of pages!), and overall a familiar lovely light aroma, redolent of a great Canadian basement, earthy but warm and inviting, not in the least offputting;---CONTENTS by major section: Aircraft Recognition, 41 pages; Visual Link Trainer, 15 pages; Engines, 31 pages; Anti-Gas, 40 pages, Hygiene & Sanitation, 47 pages; Mathematics, 90 pages; Meteorology, 59 pages; Law, Discipline, Organization & Administration, 75 pages; Signals, 27 pages; Armaments, 39 pages; Principles of Flight, 45 pages; Navigation, 149 pages; a Total of 658 pages, plus another 15 or so of introductory material. Of related interest and vintage, see also our listings for S. S. INDIANA: Sight Reduction Tables for Air Navigation published by United States Government Printing Office for the United States Hydrographic Office, and for Admiralty Manual of Tides published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office and Hydrographic Department, Admiralty. . Hard Cover. Very Good ++.
