Sobre este artículo
London: Longman's, Green and Co, 1943. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Gilt burgundy cloth. Ink inscription to the front free endpaper, else very good in a good dust jacket with a darkened spine panel and very shallow loss to spine ends. First trade edition, preceded by the Cuala Press edition.Bowen was an Anglo-Irish writer who, although she lived primarily in England, maintained a large family estate, Bowen's Court, in County Cork, Ireland. She mixed with the Bloomsbury Group, becoming good friends with Rose Macaulay and welcomed the aforesaid Virginia Woolf, among others, to Bowen's Court. In the finest Bloomsbury tradition, Bowen had several extra-marital relationships including one with the American poet May Sarton.
