Seventh World Education Conference, Tokyo 1937: Photograph Album de Fujihara, Ginjiro (introduction)

Unpaginated (29 leaves) album including introductory text on the conference and promoting and explaining the planned-for International Exposition scheduled to be held in Tokyo in 1940, printed list of contents, and 31 mounted original photographs (most approx. 4 1/2" x 6") showing international delegates (both Asian and Caucasian) to the conference, meetings in progress, cultural performances, buildings where the conference was held, and, on the final leaf, a photograph of the ground plan for the 1940 Exposition. Both a commemorative album for the conference that brought together educators from Asia, Europe and America, and a promotional tool for the never-to-be-held Exposition, this work is an interesting cultural artifact promoting international cultural cooperation in an era of increasing military aggression and isolationism.
