first edition oblong folio (26.8 x 33.5 cms.) 7 plates drawn and engraved by Alken with contemporary hand colouring as issued, 1 leaf of text (printed on recto only), original printed buff wrappers, front wrapper printed to serve as a 'title page', secured by a pink ribbon through stab holes at right-hand margin, wrappers lightly soiled, some dustiness and minor marking at plate margins and a few grubby marks at outer lower marginal corners, very lightly creased where once folded, loosely laced into later stiff plain wrappers. Uncommon.
