Sobre este artículo

New York: Harper/Collins, 2003. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. The 21st novel in Cornwell's historical adventure series featuring British solldier, Richard Sharpe, during the Napoleonic era at the beginning of the 19th century. It is 1809 and the French are attacking Portugal with the aim of controlling the whole of the Iberian Peninsula. Lt. Sharpe and his small contingent of British soldiers are in Oporto, assigned to find the missing daughter of an English wine merchant as the French forces enter the city, slaughtering everyone in their path. First printing, first American edition (with complete numberline). About 6 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches, 306 pages including historical note at end. Bound in black paper-covered boards with gold lettering on spine and including a map of Wellesley's campaing in Northern Portugal in 1809. The dustjacket's front panel shows a battle scene in dark browns and yellows between the title in white and author in gold. This copy has a quarter-sized sticker in the lower part of the front panel referring customers to a "free copy" of "Sharpe's Trafalgar" with details on the deal on the back jacket flap. The back panel of the dj contains five blurbs of praise for various Cornwell works. Boards and text are without noticeable flaws or damage except some very light foxing on top edge of text. No creasing, no tears, no bumped corners. Binding is tight. Text clear of highlighting, or underlining or other marks. Dustjacket is in equally good condition with exception of some light rubbing and the aforementioned sticker on front panel. Overall, a very decent copy of this work from Cornwell's signature historical series.
