Sobre este artículo
Grand Rapids Michigan: Kregel Publications, 1964. Fourth Printing . Hard Back. Very Good/Good. 5 3/4" x 8 3/4. Gringhus, Dick. Previous owner's name on front endpaper with date 1967. A book with a fresh appearance of a new off the shelf book, tight, and unopened. Interior text pages are flawless. The women and the children came out of all the cities of Israel. The author writes she has become intimately acquainted with these women of the shrouded, mystic past and her heart ached for them in their trials, loneliness and pain. Her spirit was led through the whole range of emotions with Hannah; the loyalty and sweetness of Ruth made many of my days serene; she was ashamed with Salome; the fragrance of Mary's spikenard distilled adoration into herown heart; She walked with the Marys in the crowd that followed the blessed Lord, and felt the heartbreak of the Magdalene at the foot of the cross. The author found it delightful and compensating, to meet the women of the ages long since covered with the dust and debris of earth and unreality, and to find that they were surprisingly much like us. The Bible is the story of redemption as it begins and slowly unfolds to its predetermined fulfillment. The Bible is history - each name and place and event is factual. By attempting to reconstruct the lives of these wonderful women of the Word we do not add to God's revelation but rather try to understand it better. We come to see that the women of past centuries were much like what we are, for the essence of living has altered but little. Contents: Old Testament: Eve, Sarah, Lot's wife, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, Dina, Jochebed, Miriam, Rahab, Deborah, Naomi, Ruth, Hannah, Esther. New Testament: Mary, the mother of Jesus, Elizabeth, Anna, Martha, Mary of Bethany, Herodias and her daughter, The Syro-Phoenician woman, Salome, The Samaritan woman, Mary Magdalene, Sapphira, Dorcas, Lydia, Priscilla, Louis and Eunice.
