A first edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. Edward Step (1855-1931) was the author of many popular and specialist books on various aspects of nature. In this work, he provides a comprehensive study on the various types of British molluscs, with over 600 illustrations. This book is from the series 'The Library of Natural History Romance'. Undated, dated through copies held at the British Library. 2 pages of publisher's advertisements to the front of the volume. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally very smart; colour and gilt are mostly bright, except for some fading to the spine and some small faint marks to the boards. Joints and extremities are a little bumped. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot. Very Good
