Covici-McGee, Chicago, 1923. Hardcover. Good. First thus, the title story previously appearing in the May 15, 1895 issue of "The Unknown World." #86 from a limited edition of 875 copies. 241 pages. Black cloth with gilt titles and decoration to front panel, and ruling in blind; small title plate to spine. Cloth rubbed, slightly sunned to spine, with light general edgewear just beginning to fray at spine tips, and small points of fraying at fore-edge corners. Spine square. Rear inner hinge starting; binding sound. Bookplate at front paste down, prior owner's name penciled at FFEP, and a very small scrape or sticker scar near top of FFEP. Interior else clean, text free of markings. With illustration plate by Wallace Smith.
