Sobre este artículo

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1946. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 24 pp. photographs. Second edition, revised and enlarged; first printing thus. Blesh's most important work, a cornerstone of jazz literature, and a key history of the music's formative years. While the author is frequently accused of slighting later stylistic innovations, history has tended to confirm his conclusions concerning the African roots of te music. Original green cloth binding, with decorative slate blue and lavender stamping. Offsetting to the rear endpaper. The dust jacket is lightly worn, with some mild sun fading along the spine; otherwise very good.
