Sobre este artículo
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1960 The Shoemaker and the Elves is a 1935 Color Rhapsodies short directed by Arthur Davis. It concerns a poor shoemaker who gives a little boy shelter from a storm. A homeless waif, staggering through a roaring snow storm, wanders into a small town and no one except a poor shoemaker will give the little boy shelter from the storm. That night, the elves come in with their equipment and material, and make a new supply of shoes for the old man. In the morning, seeing what has happened, the old man tells the boy he has brought him luck, and can stay with him as his adopted son.
Beautiful book translated by Wayne Andrews. The artwork is wonderfully done by Adams who was born in Oklahoma. Pink book cover with black ink design on front , black ink print front and spine. Protective jacket very nice condition accept for some wear on edges. Beautiful color front on jacket in brown, white, gold, black and blue. Only markings inside are in front a to and from gift note. Clean and great shape. Beautiful book. One of the Grimm Household Tale favorites. Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm (1786-1859) Grimm (1786-1859) The Brothers Grimm were figures of major importance for folklore studies throughout Europe, but it is only relevant here to speak of their impact in England. Their famous joint collection of fairytales, the Kinder- und Hausmärchen, appeared in 1812-14, and was first translated into English in 1823. They are now thoroughly absorbed into the part-oral, part-printed traditions of English children; they include such famous stories as ¿The Frog Prince¿, ¿Snow White¿, ¿Rapunzel¿, ¿Little Red Riding Hood¿ (also told by Perrault), ¿Hansel and Gretel¿, and ¿Rumpelstiltskin¿.
