This is a very clean first edition, ninth printing hardcover of James Clavell's Shogun: A Novel of Japan. This is NOT a book club edition that you commonly see that comes in two parts, but the complete novel in one giant book. This is the last print to use the original copyright date of 1975 and is nearly identical to the first prints execept for the print tracking and $17.50 price as opposed to the original $12.50.
This copy is in an original, unclipped jacket with $17.50 price. Only minor edge wear to the jacket. Book itself is in amazing condition, unmarked, only mild bumps to corners, and a clean straight spine which is VERY RARE for this book which is huge and old so prone to lean. I have seen several copies of this book and the spines are almost always sagging; I have not seen one more crisp than this.

New York: Macmillan Pub Co, 1975. A First Edition, First Printing 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Three volumes forming the majority of the famed Asian Series by James Clavell. Each book is a first edition, first printing. Tai-Pan, the first book published (1966 by Athenium) is actually the second book in the series and is set in 1841. Near fine in a very good unclipped dust jacket. The rose tinted top edge of the text block is slightly faded, and the bottom edge of the text block is slightly soiled. The jacket flaps have creases from former folds, and the spine is lightly faded. Small chipping to the spine ends, and closed tears at the top of the front and rear panels near the spine. Shogun, the first book in the series, was published by Macmillan in 1975 and is set in the 1600's. It is near fine in a near fine unclipped dust jacket. Volume very square and tight.
