Jacket a little faded on spine and a large pink stain to bottom 1/3 of rear panel. A collection of country essays and true stories of days in the open air compiled by BB (Denys Watkins-Pitchford). Contains a selection from Gilbert White's time, from Charles St John to Peter Scott, Wentworth Day to Llewelyn Powys. BB himself contributes several new essays, and there are intimate studies of game birds and animals, descriptions of golden autumn days on the stubbles and moors, stalking stories and rambles with and without gun. A very attractive copy of this early scarce BB title.. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. Illus. by Watkins-Pitchford, Denys. 8vo.
