Good with marginal chipping and fraying along top of spine, marginal splitting along interior gutter and marginal sunning from age. Some sections underline or annotated in pencil. Mostly black and white plates, including reproductions of works by Hopper, Pickens, Freake Painter, Hesselius, Sully, Hicks, Lafayette, Allston, Vanderlyn, C. W. Peale, Copley et al. First free end paper includes signature of previous owner, Peter Selz, written in blue ink on top right corner and dated 1956. From the Collection of the Art Historian Peter Selz.
