Textblock is shaky.

Good paper stock has held up well over these 110 years. maps & tables, new edition, thoroughly revised, frontispiece map, gilt spine titles, Treated green cloth boards in VG cond as is lettering on spine. 872 pp plus list of works treating on English History published by Harper.

In good black cloth boards gilt initials (F.S.H.) to front, gilt titles to back strip. The covers are quite firm and clean; corners and spine end a little bumped and frayed. Slightly tanned and marked end papers; name and address on front paste down. Tanned cut edges. The text block is in very good condition - tightly bound, straight and light foxing on some pages. With brightly coloured maps (some fold-out) and tables. No jacket.
