London: Chatto & Windus, 1891. Here is the great Irish historian's condensed version of his multi-volume version, a great source for Victorian history, still relevant today. This is a Near Fine copy of "A New Edition" in a beautiful full-leather Fine Binding. Polished red calf, ruled with gilt. The spine has five raised bands with fancy gilt decorations; the label is green with gilt lettering. Front cover has a school's heraldric device with Latin motto (Apropriately, "With God's Help"). Endpapers and all edges are marbled. Clean text; 448 pages; indexed. Light rub to corners and top of spine; top page edge has darkened a bit. Minor spotting to the endpapers. Else a Fine copy. First Thus. Full-Leather. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
