Very Good in Very Good DJ: The Book shows just a touch of wear to the extremities; very faint overall soiling; former owner's partially removed address label at the front pastedown endpaper; the expected light tanning to the text pages due to aging; the binding is secure; the text is clean. Free of any creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. A handsome, copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and several minor and unobtrusive imperfections. No longer 'fresh', but remains an attractive littrle volume. The DJ shows light wear to the corner tips, with a hint of loss to rubbing; some tiny snags and tears around the head of the backstrip; the price has been clipped; mylar-protected. Remains attractive. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 12mo. (7.3 x 5.2 x 1.25 inches). xii, 718 pages. Hector Hugh Munro (1870 1916), better known by the pen name Saki, was a British writer whose witty, mischievous and sometimes macabre stories satirize Edwardian society and culture. He is considered a master of the short story, and often compared to O. Henry and Dorothy Parker. Influenced by Oscar Wilde, Lewis Carroll and Rudyard Kipling, he in turn influenced A. A. Milne, Noël Coward and P. G. Wodehouse.
