Illustrated throughout with black and white linoleum cuts. First Edition/First Printing. DJ has shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities (chipping and wear present to the DJ extremities). Bound in yellow cloth boards with black titles and design present to the spine and boards. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. A rather odd story of the journeys of a Siamese cat with many illustrations. Leon Underwood (1890-1975) , wrote several books, including a collection of verse, ANIMALIA (1926) , a pamphlet on aesthetic theory in refutation of Herbert Read, and several monographs on primitive art. This, his only novel, is far and away his best work: an enchanting tale stunningly illustrated with complexly styled woodcuts. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 269 pages .
