Johnson came by way of Panama. Detailed narrative of first years of gold discovery. San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sacramento, San Diego, Yuba district, Weber's Creek, Sutter and his fort, gambling halls, Indian murders, etc. No maps or plates were issued with this edition. Some light cosmetic restoration to the covers, lightly foxed, else a good copy.
