Valentin Berestov (1928-1998) - оne of the most beloved children's poets in modern Russia. This is one and only life-time edition of the book with these illustrations made by May Miturich (Miturich-Khlebnikov, 1925–2008), artist, nephew of futurist poet Velimir Khlebnikov and son of avant-garde artist Vera Khlebnikova. He studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, where later he taught. In 2005 Mirutich was awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.The edition appeared in Detskij Mir publishing house. It worked in Moscow in 1957-1963 with Ivan Bruni as an Artist-in-Chief. The books published by Detskij Mir are most desirable children post-war books in Russia now.The copy was signed to the editor and translator Irina Yanskaya (1934-2013).
