New York: The John Day Company, 1948. First U.S. Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo., 196pp. Undated but 1948. Sharp First American Edition in a British dust-jacket. Bound in tan cloth with titles in purple on spine and in Chinese characters in purple on front board. Square tight and clean throughout with a touch of softness to the spine ends but quite minor. No foxing or spotting. Very attractive illustrated unclipped Methuen dust-jacket, (21s. net), has some small chips to the spine ends and tips and a toned spine panel. Still bright and complete with no creases or tears. A very pretty collectable copy and surprisingly less common than the British edition.
