Sobre este artículo

London: The Champlain Society for the Hudson's Bay Record Society, 1947. Limited Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 4to. Pp. lii, [2], 3-277, [5], followed by eight pages of members and subscribing libraries. One appendix includes supplementary documents, the other biographical. Index. Top edge gilt. Bound in dark blue cloth with gilt lettering stamped on spine. Just a suggestion of wear to cloth, otherwise a bright copy with spine unfaded and corners sharp. Partly unopened. Of a limited edition, this copy hand-numbered 1222. Volume X in the publisher's series. Title continues: March 1, 1829. Continued and Completed March 24 and June 5, 1829. Curiously, Columbia is misspelled on the spine as "Colombia."

George Simpson, as manager of the Oregon Country's Chief Factors and Chief Traders, was vital to the success of the Hudson's Bay enterprise in the region. Contains deep information on the Pacific Northwest's agricultural contribution to the China Trade, as well as passing references to Jedediah Smith, Fort Vancouver, Peter Skene Ogden, Fort Langley, etc. A handsome, stately volume.
