Title and author in gray lettering on green below illustration. NOT ex-library. Binding cracked at page 86 but still strong; webbing showing. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with fraying at tips; board exposed at corners. Spine slightly darkened. Covers have moderate edge wear, surface rubbing and light soiling. Name in ink on front free endpaper. Pages very lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Very light moisture stain in fore edge margin on last half of pages; stain barely visible. Pages otherwise. clean and unmarked. Four black & white illustrations by Haydon Jones; frontispiece has tissue guard. 226 pages. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
