With frequent in-text diagrams and illustrations, as well as a half-tone frontispiece and a vignette title page. Publisher's blue diced half morocco with gilt titles to spine, orange cloth over boards, and Beaufort crest of Badminton village in gilt to upper. Navy endpapers; top edges gilt; others untrimmed. Armorial bookplate of Walter C. Parker to front pastedown. Largely unopened, but with extremely heavy spotting throughout. Moderate rubbing to boards, but heavy rubbing and toning to spine, with damage to head and tail. Good.
