Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and twenty-seven colour plates, with head and tailpieces throughout. Collated complete. This volume explores the beautiful sceneries from Ireland, Egypt, the Cape, and Italy, with commentary on the author's experiences. Written and illustrated by Elizabeth Southerden Thompson, later known as Lady Butler, a British painter who specialised in painting scenes from British military campaigns and battles. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
