Sobre este artículo

Sauk City: Arkham House, 1946. First edition of 4000 copies. 8vo, 216, [1]pp. Black cloth with gilt spine lettering and design in illustrated jacket by Robert F. Hubbell. Signed by van Vogt on the title page with "Slancere" best wishes. Page block edge a bit toned and soiled, with some light foxing to preliminaries, and boards a bit dusty. Price-clipped jacket with toning to spine, typical wear and light chipping at spine ends and corners. A very good copy.

Charmingly signed copy of this first book from the influential Canadian author of science fiction, Alfred Elton van Vogt (1912-2000).  Slan was originally published as a serial in John W. Campbell's Astounding Science Fiction, in 1940.  A classic Arkham House title from the 40's.

Sinopsis

Slan is a science fiction novel written by A. E. van Vogt, as well as the name of the fictional race of superbeings featured in the novel. The novel was originally serialized in the magazine Astounding Science Fiction (September - December 1940). It was subsequently published in hardcover in 1946 by Arkham House, in an edition of 4,051 copies. Lydia van Vogt, A. E. van Vogt's widow, and Kevin J. Anderson wrote a sequel to Slan, titled Slan Hunter, based on an unfinished draft by van Vogt.
