San Francisco: Auerhahn Press, 1959. Garibaldi Hall Card measures 3.75 x 2.25" high. A huge poetry reading organized by Robert LaVigne and Philip Lamantia, with the proceeds going to the press. “It was one of the “wildest poets’ demonstrations in history.” [quoted from A Bibliography of the Auerhahn Press 13]. The event featured a host of beat poets including Lamantia, Ferlinghetti, Meltzer, Whalen, Kaufman and more. This card is not mentioned in the Auerhahn Press Bibliography although the event is well documented and a larger, different announcement flyer for the event is shown. Near fine condition. A scarce piece of Beat ephemera. A must-have for Auerhahn Press collectors.
