PLEASE NOTE CONDITION: Spine is torn away but all pages appear to be intact. Owner's inscription on front cover is dated 1928. Blue cloth boards with white decoration and photographic pastedown in the middle. The front cover is very clean and book would be adorable if spine mended. Text heavily illustrated with black and white photos. Marie Ahnighito Peary ("The Snow Baby") was born on September 12, 1893, the daughter of Arctic explorer Robert E. Peary and his wife Josephine. This book was extremely popular in its day for the accounts of the time that the family lived in Greenland while Peary prepared his expeditions to be the first to reach the North Pole.
