Library markings in pen and pencil are visible on title page, first page of preface and first page of text. The book measures approximately 4" x 6" and contains 159 pages plus 17 pages of publisher's advertisements at front and rear. .

Blatchly on the front pastedown, with a pencilled note in his hand explaining the provenance.. 8vo. pp 135; 115. Possibly in original publisher's mauve cloth, lettered gilt at the spine. Bound in with 'Social evils and their remedy: The pastor of Dronfells'.
