Overall offering a complete study of the county in this era.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and twenty-one plates.Collated, complete.Written by the oriental scholar Robert Kennedy Douglas, who worked in China from 1858 to 1865. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, a little faded to the spine, joints, and extremities. Some marks to the boards and spine. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot. Frontispiece is detaching to the head. Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
