Wright was the first US Commissioner of Labor, serving from 1895 to 1905, with most of his career spent as a statistician and lecturer, often working on labor and economic concerns, including the improvement of working conditions. GOOD condition. Ex-library with a spine label and bookplates present. Minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear to the covers. First endpaper offset from the bookplate.
