Sobre este artículo
New York: MacMillan, 1939. First Edition . Pictorial Paper Covered Boards. Near Fine/Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Leighton, Clare. New York: MacMillan, 1939. First edition. Octavo, 178 pp. Illustrated boards, matching illustrated dustjacket. All illustrations by the author. Sparkling Near Fine book, with page-edge soiling only, showing some edgewear and a little loss at spine top and rear corners; the scarce dust jacket accompanies this piece, though the jacket is in just fair condition, with the front panel and flap separated and the rear almost separated, and both corners clipped. An unusual and fascinating novel by the noted illustrator and authority on woodcut engraving, Sometime - Never is the tale of Clare Leighton's personal spiritual voyage into her ideal life, experienced somehow one evening aboard an ocean liner during the one hour of "free time" gained during a westward Atlantic crossing. Illustrated by her with lithographs in this case, rather than woodcuts, all perfectly matching the adventurous and desultory mood of her dream-state, this is a unique work of fiction. Certainly one of the finest available copies of an almost uncategorizeable book, with the rare jacket included. L92
