Sobre este artículo

Toronto: McClelland & Stewart, 1988. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A collection of acerbic essays, most of which were previously published in magazines and newspapers, about the eminent Canadians and pivotal moments that helped shape the country in the later twentieth century. Among those exposed to Newman's critical prose are Wayne Gretzky, Pierre Burton, Robertson Davies, Margaret Atwood, Joe Clark, Pierre and Margaret Trudeau, Marshall McLuhan, John Lennon, and the egotists of Wall Street. Hardcover in black boards with gold titling to the spine. Binding square and tight. Small impact to lower free corner of text block left a tiny ripple to the corner of some twenty leaves. Dust jacket lightly rubbed. Minor wear overall and no ownership markings.

Sobre Pulp & Circumstance

Welcome to Pulp & Circumstance on Biblio. Once a brick and mortar bookseller, I am pleased that I can now offer scarce and/or collectible books and other items via this platform.

P&C strives to ensure that all items are clean and fairly described. Packages will be wrapped with care and dispatched as soon as feasible, usually on the next business day.

We do not use stock photos. All our photos are of the actual item offered for sale. We try to include the publishers' own descriptions of content by including photos of dust jacket flaps and back covers so far as they seem useful, and we also use photos to show material flaws where we can.

The "Pulp & Circumstance" watermark you might notice in some of our photos does not, of course, appear on any of the items themselves.

Please note that the colour in our photos often fails to come out right. The hue shifts a bit due to the limitations of our equipment, the lighting in our workshop, and of course my own lack of photographic expertise.

Shipping costs per book are always cheaper when more than one book is sent in the same package. Read more about shipping charges in "Terms of Sale" below.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have by email. We will usually respond within 24 hours. Happy browsing!
