Sobre este artículo
NY: Viking, 1964. 2nd Revised . Hardcover. Good+/No Jacket. This is my favorite of Kesey's writing, his best day I think, rivaling Steinbeck. His evocation of the Oregon Coast and the culture of it's people is dead on and beautifully drawn. Read this and Duncan's The River Why and you know much of what is there to be known about that part of the world as it was in the 60s and 70s. This books condition, having no structural flaws, and only a fairly mild assortment of minor cosmetic issues, surely approaches Very Good-, but our policly is to assess the books conservatively and describe them to death in the interest of full disclosure. This policy seems to work for us, in our many years online we have had virtually zero returns .Viking's ship appears on half title page. In any case, flaws as follows. The extremities of the head and foot of spine have dark tips, as though abrasion has worn a bit of the superficial blueish basketweave patterning from the surafces exposing the darker base color. I feel fairly sure this is the case. Cloth clean. Blue and greem stamping on spine and front cover read well. Bottom board tips have microscopic bumping and trace of previously referenced darkening. Small inscription 1st endsheet. The hinges are holding nicely, but are not tight, the text is decent and unmarked, but has a mildly thumbed appearance. Pencil eraser size light bluish stain on texts bottom edge. The dye of the top edge must have had a few droplets of H2O exposure which have left light speckling, quite mild, missed it on 1st glance. As always our 'over describing' seems to damn the book's condition, so it's worth noting that the book makes a good, solid, if mildly worn, appearance. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately. We assure the buyer that books listed by Brass Dolphin are so described, using the strict, traditional standards.*
Sinopsis
Sometimes a Great Notion is Ken Kesey's second novel, published in 1964. Although One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is more famous, many critics consider Sometimes a Great Notion his magnum opus. The story revolves around an Oregon logging family that continues to cut trees despite a union strike.
