The Books of Samuel continue the history related in Joshua and Judges and tell of the consolidation of the tribes of Israel into a monarchy. The period covered is dramatic in character, full of Incident vividly described, and dominated the three interesting personalities: Samuel, Saul and David. Although the story which is narrated is so familiar, it has new light thrown upon It in the exposition offered in this volume.
