In the original cloth binding, gile lettered and decorated. The spine is browned and has some wear. The pages are top edge gilt. Ink presentation inscription to the half title page - To Mr George Byng from the author (in acknowledgement of his care and attention to the printing of this work) November 1891. Light browning anf some spotting throughout. John Cotton was connected with Bromsgrove and Birmingham.
