The frontispage has a note from a previous owner (Rob Grice of the East London branch of the South African Military History Society): "Names include observers from other services as well as SAAF (ref. Dutton, J F - SA Army General in later life, previously with SSB-Armour- attached Royal Tank Corps in Korea). The book includes the text of a speech from the SAAF founding officer, Sir Pierre van Ryneveld. The frontispage has a gift inscription (a previous owner). The air force blue boards have sunning, wear, scuffing all about. The stamped gilt titling is fresh. The boards are healthy and secure. Within, the contents are a little aged due to paper quality (a particular issue with South African books during the sanctions years). They are a little tanned about the edges.
