London: Karl Baedeker, Publisher, 1929. Cloth. Very Good. 6.5" by 4.5". Various. A detailed and authoritative guidebook on Southern Germany written and published by the notable German publisher Karl Baedeker, whose travel works set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists in the nineteenth century. A thirteenth revised edition copy. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with attractive mapped rear endpapers and marbled textblock. This copy is lacking its original dustwrapper, as usual. Copiously illustrated throughout with one hundred and eighteen maps and plans, many of which are coloured and or folding. In the publisher's original cloth binding with marbled textblock. Externally, minor shelfwear to extremities and head and tail of spine. Slight fading and loss of gilt to spine. Marking to rear board. Faint tidemark to gutter and upper extremity of front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Page slightly age toned to extremities but bright and clean, with the odd spot and handling mark. Small closed tear to gutter of folding map facing title page. Very Good
