All pages are lightly toned and there a few minor spots and marks. The book contains 3 original color pop-ups all in great condition. The colors are bright and strong. There are several black and white illustrations through out the book. The colorful boards are in good condition with some light soiling, tanning around the edges and corner bends. The colors are bright and strong. The boards are slightly cupped. This is an extremely collectible book, fairly rare and will make a great addition to your collection.

J. Ottmann Litho. Co. New York. No date. Circa 1907. Die-cut Chromolithographic Bear and clothing in original printed envelope. (Bear is 10.5 inches tall, envelope is 11.5 x 8.5 inches). The Bear has a (recently replaced) plain card back stand to keep him upright and the 5 outfits have tabs so can be laid onto the body. The hats have small slits and sit on the head, in between the ears. Each outfit comes with a hat but the Driver's cap is missing. The outfits are; a Dress Suit with vests, tie, pocket square and top hat; a Nautical Suit of blue blazer with gold buttons, stripes, anchors, and white trousers with a cap featuring an eagle; a Baseball Uniform for the NL, National League, with a striped cap; a yellow Bathrobe trimmed in red, striped socks, and a red sleeping cap; and a Driver's Coat with brass buttons, belt, and grey gloves (the cap is missing from this outfit). The Bear has just a few light scratches and a couple of the outfits have small creases but overall they are all in very good… Leer más

Ernest Nister, nd (c1890) 1890. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. 1st Edition. Nister code No. 1860. Brown cloth backed pictorial boards 19 x 25.5 cm blue and white decorative endpapers. Unpaginated (14) with black and white images within the text and 6 colour moveable pictures each activated by a tab. The images illustrate, Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo-Peep, Hey Diddle Diddle, Mother Hubbard and The Three Bears. As the tab is pulled, the first colour illustration lifts to reveal a second colour illustration and as the tab is pulled again, a third and final colour illustration is revealed. The boards have a little rubbing with minor loss to the spine tips and a little rounding to the corners with a few scratches to the boards. Internally there is reinforcement to both hinges. There is a little uniform toning to the pages. All the pictures are complete and 5 of the 6 are in full working order with the Little Bo-Peep images not lifting without help. London: Dean & Son, 11 Ludgate Hill, 1859. Poor. Stiff card wraps. 4to. Bound in thin card with covers printed in color. 16 pp., printed on one side only, with eight full page hand-colored illustrations showing Punch and Judy, et al., in the upper portion with text and drummer below. Each plate has moveable parts operated by a lever at the foot which operates the movement in the upper window; in addition 3 of the drummers move when the tabs are activated. The drummers on the remaining pages have their arms in the form of tabs which fit into a slit in the page. They are affixed on the other side. There is nothing to suggest that they were ever intended to move. To the best of our knowledge all copies of this title have all puppets movable but only three drummers. It is as though Dean had intended to make them all movable but gave up on the idea. Later printing of this work have the drummers all immovable, printed on the page with the text reset to go around the illustrations. This is a very good… Leer más
