Other small tears/pieces missing on the edges of DJ. The bulk of the DJ survives. Some surface damage on DJ front from label removal and stains on back of DJ. Light blue boards. Clean, tight pages. Strong binding. Previous owner name on front free endpaper in pencil. Science fiction novel. Jim Rawlins was one of three students from the United States chosen to study the Galactic Federation of the Aliens(Earth was not yet a member). Jim was not impressed with his fellow students, Ellen(a sociologist) and Kurt(a historian). But when all three were Marooned on Quebahr(along with their alien companion), a world outside the Federation, Jim realised that each had a contribution to make in communicating with the unusal inhabitants of that world.
