Sobre este artículo
Leipsic: Karl Baedeker, 1908. Cloth. Very Good. 6" by 4". Not stated. The third edition of Karl Baedeker's travel handbook of Spain and Portugal. The third edition of Karl Baedeker's travel handbook on Spain and Portugal. With nine maps and fifty seven plans, 12 of which are folding, collated but incomplete, as it lacks the plate called for before the title page. Established in 1827, the German publishing house were pioneers of worldwide travel handbooks. By drawing on specialist knowledge, their guides provide brief historical and cultural introductions, alongside detailed information about travel routes, the available facilities, and descriptions of attractions and noteworthy buildings. Baedeker was bought by MairDumont in 1997. Alongside these staples of the Baedeker guide, this volume includes an introductory article on Spanish art, alongside chapters on the Basque provinces, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia, and Portugal. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the title page, 'Witty'. With publisher's adverts to the front pastedown and endpaper. In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little rubbed to the joints and the spine, with a closed tear in the cloth at the rear joint. Lightly rubbed to the head and tail of the spine. Front hinge starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional spot. Very Good
