Sobre este artículo

Philadelphia: Henry T. Coates & Co, 1895. Hardcover. Very Good/very good -. 2 volumes (293 p., frontispiece and 20 additional leaves of plates; 292 p., frontispiece and 23 additional leaves of plates, 1 folded leaf of a map); 19 cm. Original white linen with gilt-stamped spine title and elaborate decoration on spine and front board of each volume. Top page edges gilt. Red ribbon bookmarks. Original red linen dust jackets with paper backing; gilt-stamped spine title on dust jackets. Map of Spain and Portugal printed in green and black by Burk & McFetridge Co., lithographer, Phila. Photogravure plates have tissue guards with captions printed in red. The author, Edmondo de Amicis (1846-1908), was an Italian novelist and journalist. This is a beautifully illustrated edition of a fascinating mid-19th-century account of travel through Spain. Books are in Very Good Condition: loss of cloth at head of both spines; otherwise clean and bright, a very uncommon state for white bindings, but thanks here to the linen dust jackets. Dust jackets are in Very Good- Condition: edges rubbed; minor loss at head of spines and ends of flap folds; spines are darkened; lightly soiled.
