Sobre este artículo
NY: Thomas Y. Crowell, 1890. No stated date, likely late 1890s. Lockhart's translations of the Spanish Ballads originally appeared in Blackwood's Magazine in separate form in 1822. The material from this book was there sourced and contains 2 or 3 more ballands than the later edition. Lockhard later appended some of them to his edition of Motteux's Don Quixote. The translation of the Cid is a charming addition to the above and presents a wonderful picture of Spanish literature of the period. Leather spine, marbled boards, top page edges gilt. Fairly heavy edge and shelfwear, some scuffing of leather, a rather clumsy tape repair at base of spine, front hinge starting, and backstrip starting to detach as well. Remainder of book is clean and solid.. Half-Leather. Fair.
